Francis M. Curd, D.D.S., F.I.C.D.
Dr. Curd received a Bachelors of Science Degree in 1973 from Youngstown State University with a major in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. In 1977, Dr. Curd received the Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Dentistry. He completed a General Practice Residency in Dentistry in 1978 at Saint Luke's Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. From 1978 to 1979, Dr. Curd taught full time at the Ohio State University School of Dentistry in the General Practice Dentistry Department. He returned to Youngstown, Ohio in the fall of 1979 to accept the position of Assistant Professor and Coordinator of the Department of Dental Hygiene Technology at Youngstown State University. He also opened a private dental practice, "The Dentist Tree" Francis M. Curd, D.D.S., Inc. to provide general dentistry and oral surgery services for a private patient population. Dr. Curd also trained other dentists in an associateship relationship in the private dental practice. While in Youngstown, Ohio, Dr. Curd helped to establish two federally funded dental clinics to provide care for people who could not afford dental care.
Dr. Curd expanded his private dental practice "Francis M. Curd, D.D.S., Inc." to include an additional office in Cleveland, Ohio in 1998. During the same year, Dr. Curd returned to teaching Dentistry by becoming a Consultant and Preceptor in the General Practice Dentistry Department at Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine. In 2000, Dr. Curd began teaching full time as an Assistant Professor and Director of Quality Assurance at Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Curd served on the Admissions Committee, Chairman of the Student Standing and Promotions Committee as well as on several other committees at the Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Curd also served as a faculty senator representing the School of Dental Medicine on the Case Western Reserve University Senate. In July 2006, Dr. Curd and his wife relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada School of Dental Medicine and accepted a position as an Associate Professor, Clinical Sciences at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas School of Dentistry Medicine. Dr. Curd is licensed in the state of Nevada and Ohio. On October 16, 2006, Dr. Curd was elected as a Fellow in the International College of Dentists.
Dr. Curd is currently a consultant to the Northeast Regional Board of Dental Examiners and he helps to administer "The American Dental Licensing Examination in Dentistry" in 15 northeastern states and the District of Columbia. He is also active in Organized Dentistry and is a member of The American Dental Association, The Nevada Dental Association and The Southern Nevada Dental Association.
Dr. Curd has been a member of the Board of Directors for The Diversity Foundation since its founding in 1998 and the Board of Directors of Health Legacy of Cleveland, Cleveland, Ohio.
